Sockret Pal Questionnaire

How long have you been knitting?
Several years. I consider myself an intermediate knitter although socks I can probably knit in my sleep!

Provide shoe size?
I am a size 7 US

What colors do you love?
Earth tones, blues, jewel tones.

Solids and variegated are fine.

I love knitting with wool, silk, cashmere, alpaca, and blends of this type. Superwash wools are awesome because I really do wear my socks. I do not like novelty yarns or mohair. Hairy stuff makes me nervous. LOL
I don't mind synthetic as long as I can wear it against my skin.

I'll have to get back to you on the favorite vendors.

I am beginning to explore shawls. I like to knit sweaters I design myself. I like to do a touch of colorwork here and there. And I want to find a good knee sock pattern.

I don't like fuzzy stuff. It tickles my nose. LOL
And I dont like to wear yellow, orange or the seafoam green color of the 50's institutional kitchens.
I prefer the colors mentioned above and I will wear fushia, lime green and pink.

I like to work with wood and bamboo. Metal isnt bad. I dont like plastic it bends too much.
I like circulars and straights but no 14" straights.
Definately DPNs!!
I'll have to get back with you about things I dont have knitting notion-wise. I have to check.

The extras:
I like sweet and salty.
I dont have allergies to food although I am deathly allergic to horses.
Scents? I like light and natural like vanilla and black raspberry.
I'll get back to you on the collections, although one thing I do collect is antique knitting books.
My birthday is October 28th and I like pumpkins :)
I have a spinning wheel but not time to spin. If it comes down to the two, I will knit first everytime.
I like bags to put things in, small project types or big projects. But no plastic kinds. I dislike nylon-type stuff.
I'll get back with you on the rest of the extras stuff like authors/bad etc

I hope this helps. I never really thought about most of these questions before :)

Maniac

Ok, I'm a maniac!
I was messing with my blog at work last night like I normally do when BOOM! my blog blew up! Completely. It was gone. Blown out of the water. Some funky little computer iconish looking stuff I did NOT recognize. I was traumatized.

I was panicked & afraid I had lost all my posts and buttons. But one of the hostesses from my Sockret Pal Swap (Rachel) saved the day! Granted, I will have to re-put my buttons back on but at least I can access everything else. So thanks again Rachel! You rock! I feel sooo much better.

To My Sockret Pal

I am in a bit of a tiz so I havent gotten my list completed yet. Not to worry, I should have that going here shortly. I tried to blow up my blog this AM early and our amazing leader Rachel came to my rescue.
I will attempt to complete it tonight at work if we arent nuts!
Talk to you soon!

Didn't Get Washed Away

It's bright and sunshiny here in KY. Thank goodness. I haven't seen that much rain in a while. But we got through it and life goes on.

I received my Knitting Tea Swap 2 recipient this weekend and have made contact with her. I will probably be posting her package sooner then I thought. Seems she and I have a lot in common. I have already bought the yarn to send. Now all I need to do is get my tea in place.

I visited Dave's blog again and sure enough, still more KALs to join. The Fall Cable Knit Along and Tweeding Along. I REALLY need to stay away from Dave's blog. He's quite the influence. But it's a good one so that's not too bad. He finds all kinds of great KALs and swaps! Darn it.

Am almost finished with the ISE scarf and will send when I am finished. Can't wait for that! I looked at the end of my blog and realized there are only 91 days until Christmas!! ARGHHHHHHHH...

Oh well...

Thunder & LIghtening

Wow! What a night! Thunderstorms have been ripping through my area and they have been beautiful and terrifying at once. I am getting over an inner ear infection and called in to the second job a second day. This illness is fortunate since the way I usually drive to work is covered in flood warning areas and one portion of the highway (I-64) has actually been closed. So far we have had a reprieve and there are just sprinkles right now. But the weather man on channel 27 is telling us that we are in the middle of the storm system and the rest is on its way. Whew! For once I am glad I wasn't feeling well enough to work.

The up side? I am working like crazy on my ISE scarf for my pal. If I can get most of it done today I will be thrilled! It's a bunch of nap and knit this AM. I can handle that. I have a cup of warm tea and yarn. If I felt better it would be heavenly!

I Have Shopped For Chocolate & It Is Good

I have shopped for my pal in the Chocolate Swap. And ohhhh my goodness. Its heavenly! The box's postage is going to cost more then the actually swap materials I believe. It will be awesome.

I have been working my tush off. BUT orientation in the new job will be over this weekend and I will be working two days and being paid for three. So I am not complaining. Not one bit.

Today is the first day of Fall and it's cool and crisp and I'm loving it.

AND I am working like crazy on the scarf for my ISE pal. I changed horses in the middle of the stream but I think she's going to love it just as much. Personally I think the fiber is better for a scarf. Just a thought!

Ok It's Official!!

I sent off the first swap box today!! It's my first time to send anything in a swap! I hope that I put enough stuff in it.. It just seemed like I could have stuffed more in there.

I had my cloths (I sent two, couldnt decide which to send), a little something for Halloween, since that is coming up soon, a knitting knick knack, a note, some wonderful yarn that is almost too pretty for knitting into anything, and a place to write patterns. I guess thats enough...

So now it's off to the next swap box

September socks are finally complete! In between work and, well, work it's taken forever! But they are pretty arent they?

And here is my Garterlac Scarf ( with great recognition to Dave of the Garterlac Dishcloth!) I really like the way the colors from the varigation fit into blocks of color. Nifty eh?

Aside from that I am putting the finishing touches on my Dishcloth Shuffle pals box O' stuff. That should go out sometime this week. And have begun working on others. Too much fun!

Compulsion? Obsession? Insanity? You Decide!

It's a compulsion I do believe. So far I am signed up for (in this order) :

International Scarf Exchange, The Dishcloth Shuffle; Sockret Pal; Knitters Tea Swap 2; and now? Chocolate Swap!
And this doesn't include the 5 KALs I have picked up along the way.....

I have already received my Dishcloth and my International Scarf recipient. Just three more to go and I'm set. I'm already working on the dishcloths. And I have ideas about the scarf now that I have the specs from my givee. So I am okie dokie there.
This is going to be great!

Possibly You Have Already Noticed

Ok.. I'm new to all this HTML stuff. And, as it stands I am like a crow, if it's shiny it has my attention. In application to my newness, if it looks like a cool button I'm all over it. I want to point out my new phases of the Moon button AND my X-amount of days til Christmas button. The former is in the sidebar and the latter is at the foot. Unless I join still another KAL, I think I am going to lay off the buttons for a while. Maybe.
