Spinning wheels got to go 'round!

It's been a while since my last post. Obviously. But in all fairness to myself I've had two surgeries, rehab, and reorienting myself to a new facility at work. So no one should feel ignored.

I cancelled my pocket wheel order when life unfolded last year...finances just wouldn't allow. Since then I have been spinning on my Ashford Traveller which is an exceptional wheel. I had been looking around for a more portable wheel to carry to Stitch n Bitch and placed a Schacht Sidekick on layaway at the Woolery. I'm hoping to pick it up soon.

Of course I also had to treadle the Schacht Matchless at well. Nom nom.....So I now have a 40th anniversary Cherry Matchless on its way as well...

I may sell my Traveller....

Sweet Tomato Heel!!

This is a first time try of the Sweet Tomato Heel from the e-book "Cat's Sweet Tomato Heel Socks" by Cat Bordhi.

The whole short-row heel thing has left me in the cold for as long as I have been knitting socks. I've taken classes, had amazingly patient friends look sadly at me and shake their heads, and had basically given up any attempt at this particular venue. Now?? I did it the very first time.

This may indicate that I have have little to no social life when I say:

I Have Ordered Something...Wanna See??

This isn't MY wheel. It is a picture of someone else's. BUT mine will be very similar. In fact I am probably going to order cherry as well. This is a "pocket wheel" and I am very excited to be on the list for one. If everything goes well, I will have it around April 2012.

It is small/travel-size. I'm hoping after I learn to spin fairly well on this one, I can get my $$ and go to Yarn School!! W00t!!

Seriuosly, one has to have something to look forward to....right?
